Description
The 2.4-liter Toyota 22R carbureted engine was produced in Japan from 1981 to 1997 and was installed on such popular models of the company as 4Runner, Hilux and Land Cruiser J70. This motor was seriously updated in 1990 and its power increased by more than 10 hp. The R family also includes engines: 22R‑E and 22R‑TE. The engine was installed on: Toyota 4Runner 1 (N60) in 1984 – 1989; Toyota Celica 3 (A60) in 1981 – 1985; Toyota Corona 6 (T130) in 1981 – 1983; Toyota Cressida 4 (X80) in 1990 – 1995; Toyota Hilux 3 (N30) in 1981 – 1983; Hilux 4 (N50) in 1983 – 1988; Hilux 5 (N80) in 1988 – 1997; Toyota Land Cruiser 70 (J70) in 1984 – 1989.
