MSD Blaster 2 High Performance Ignition Coil MSD8202 45,000V

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The MSD Blaster 2 ignition coil MSD8202 is designed as a high performance upgrade or replacement for electronic ignitions and MSD 5, 6 and 7 Series ignition controls. A 100:1 turns ratio and low primary resistance deliver strong spark energy for improved combustion and throttle response. The heavy-duty metal canister is oil-filled for effective heat dissipation and long-term reliability.

KEY FEATURES

  • High output performance coil for electronic ignitions and MSD 5, 6, 7 Series (ballast resistor required with points ignition).
  • Alkyd tower with high dielectric strength reduces risk of carbon tracking and misfire.
  • 100:1 turns ratio and low primary resistance for increased voltage output and strong spark.
  • Durable metal canister filled with premium grade oil for cooling and stability.
  • Compatible with many stock and performance ignition systems (check ballast resistor requirements).
  • CARB E.O. approved for emissions-controlled applications where applicable.

APPLICATION NOTES

  • Suitable for use with many stock electronic ignition systems, MSD Blaster Ignition, and MSD 5, 6 or 7 Ignition Controls.
  • Most late model electronic ignition vehicles do not require a ballast resistor; always check the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Mallory Unilite applications require the use of a ballast resistor.
  • Professional installation and correct matching to the ignition system are recommended for optimal performance and reliability.
