INSTALLATION NOTES

Installation should be carried out by a qualified technician. The throttle body is mounted on the intake manifold and connected to the engine wiring harness and associated hoses.

• Verify flange surfaces are clean and undamaged before installation.
• Always use a new seal ring and gasket when refitting.
• Tighten mounting screws in a cross pattern to 8–10 Nm.
• Reconnect all electrical plugs, intake ducts, coolant and vacuum hoses securely.
• After installation, check for air, coolant and vacuum leaks.

ADAPTATION & SELF-LEARNING

After replacing the throttle body or engine control components, an adaptation or basic setting procedure may be required so the ECU can relearn the throttle position.

• Ensure cooling fluid temperature is over 80°C and battery voltage above 11 V.
• All electrical consumers should be switched off during basic setting.
• Do not press the accelerator pedal during automatic adaptation unless specified by the diagnostic procedure.
• Follow the vehicle manufacturer or diagnostic tool instructions for throttle basic setting.

SAFETY INFORMATION

• Allow the engine to cool before disconnecting any coolant hoses from the throttle body.
• Protect electrical connectors from water, dirt and impact damage.
• Do not use a throttle body that shows signs of collision or housing damage.
• After installation and adaptation, start the engine and let it run for several minutes while checking for leaks and abnormal operation.
