IDLE RELEARN & SELF-ADAPTATION

After replacing or cleaning the throttle body, an idle relearn or self-adaptation procedure is required to ensure correct operation. Follow the latest instructions provided in the official vehicle service manual or technical service information for your specific vehicle.

BASIC CONDITIONS FOR ADJUSTMENT

• All electrical accessories switched off
• Coolant temperature above 80 °C (if applicable)
• Battery voltage above 11 V
• Automatic transmission in P position
• Accelerator pedal not pressed during basic setting

Always refer to the correct diagnostic tool procedures and channel numbers specified for your vehicle.

INSTALLATION NOTES

• Electronic throttle body is mounted on the intake manifold
• Use suitable tools (e.g. ratchet spanner, screwdrivers)
• Do not damage the intake manifold flange surface
• Allow engine to cool before disconnecting any coolant hoses
• Protect electrical connectors from water, dirt and contaminants
• Do not install parts that are visibly damaged or have suffered impact

INSTALLATION STEPS (SUMMARY)

• Disconnect the electrical connector from the throttle body
• Remove intake ducting or manifold connections to the throttle body
• Disconnect any attached hoses (e.g. coolant, vacuum) as required
• Clean the flange surface; install a new seal ring or gasket
• Install the new throttle body and tighten mounting bolts evenly (approx. 8–10 Nm where applicable)
• Reconnect all plugs, hoses and intake ducting and check for secure fit

FINAL CHECKS

• Turn ignition to ON (engine off) and allow time for throttle self-learning if required
• Start the engine and let it run for several minutes
• Inspect for coolant or vacuum leaks around hoses and flange
• Confirm engine idle quality and that no warning lights remain on
